Maybank’s Platinum Debit MasterCard will allow cardholders to pay for public transport and purchase items at over 15,000 retail points.
It is the first Qualifying Full Bank to build in the NETS FlashPay feature into a debit card. It is also the first time that NFP has been added onto a MasterCard platform. With the convenience of NFP, Maybank’s Platinum Debit MasterCard will allow cardholders to pay for public transport and purchase items at over 15,000 retail points. Drivers with New Dual-Mode In-vehicle Units can also use the card to pay for toll charges via Electronic Road Pricing and parking fees. For greater convenience, cardholders can opt-in for the free NFP Auto Top-Up facility from their Maybank savings or current accounts.
This all-in-one debit card also functions as an ATM card as well as a signature-based debit card through the MasterCard network. Cardholders who make signature-based and online transactions through the MasterCard network will earn 1 tr’eats point for every dollar charged which can be used to redeem items and tr’eats Vouchers. In addition, customers can withdraw cash at over 140 local ATMs in the atm5 network and in local currencies from over 2,800 Maybank ATMs in Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, the Philippines and Cambodia, free of charge. Customers can also make use of the recently launched service, “EPINS CashOut”, to get cash whenever they make transactions at any of the 62 SingPost outlets.
Mr Lim Kuo Siong, Head of IT and Virtual Banking explained the rationale behind the launch of the new Maybank Platinum Debit MasterCard, “When developing products and services at Maybank, we always think about what value we are adding to customers in terms of their lifestyle or financial needs and aspirations. Maybank’s partnership with NETS and MasterCard will create a true all-in-one card that provides everyday cashless convenience. With just one card, customers can make transit payment, withdraw cash from ATMs and SingPost outlets, sign for their purchases at any of the over 37.2 million MasterCard establishments locally and worldwide, and pay for their purchases via EPINS at over 3,000 merchant points. The card can also be used for bill payments at over 900 AXS Stations and AXS Station Quickbill counters.”
